This English Diamond Pedestal Luminary captures the geometric grace and timeless texture that define American milk glass design. Introduced around 1915, Westmoreland’s English Hobnail pattern is distinguished by its faceted diamond motif — crisp, cross-cut surfaces that shimmer beautifully under candlelight. Once admired as a centerpiece in mid-century homes, this oval pedestal compote has been reimagined as a luminous statement piece, hand-poured with True Vintage Candle’s signature coconut wax blend.

Era: 1950s–1970s
Maker: Westmoreland Glass Company, Grapeville, Pennsylvania
Pattern: English Hobnail Diamond Point
Dimensions: 8.5" W × 5.5" D × 6.5" H

ABOUT MILK GLASS

Milk glass has captivated collectors and designers for more than a century with its luminous, milky-white glow and timeless artistry. First created in Venice in the 1500s, it rose to prominence in the United States during the late 19th and mid-20th centuries through legendary glassmakers such as Fenton, Westmoreland, Anchor Hocking, Indiana Glass, Fostoria, and E.O. Brody. Known for its opaline sheen, hand-pressed textures, and ornate motifs — from hobnail and lace to diamond patterns and cabbage rose — milk glass was once a hallmark of refinement, displayed proudly in parlors and on dining tables across America. Today, each vintage piece endures as a symbol of craftsmanship and nostalgia — reimagined by True Vintage Candle as a hand-poured luminary that transforms history into light for you to enjoy.
