This Hobnail Lidded Luminary Candle captures the spirit of midcentury design — playful, tactile, and timelessly elegant. The Fenton Art Glass Company introduced its signature hobnail pattern in 1939, transforming functional glassware into sculptural art. This mid-century piece, crafted in rich white opaline milk glass, features a domed lid and raised hobnail texture that shimmer with candlelight. Once a cherished accent in 1950s homes, it now holds our hand-poured coconut-apricot wax, reimagined as a glowing heirloom for modern interiors.

Era: 1950s–1960s

ABOUT MILK GLASS

Milk glass has captivated us for more than a century with its luminous, milky-white glow and timeless artistry. First created in Venice in the 1500s, it rose to prominence in the United States during the late 19th and mid-20th centuries through legendary glassmakers such as Fenton, Westmoreland, Indiana Glass, Fostoria, and E.O. Brody. Known for its opaline sheen, hand-pressed textures, and ornate motifs, from hobnail and lace to diamond patterns and cabbage rose, milk glass was once a hallmark of refinement, displayed proudly in parlors and on dining tables across America. Today, each vintage piece endures as a symbol of craftsmanship and nostalgia — reimagined by True Vintage Candle as a hand-poured luminary that transforms history into light for you to enjoy.
