Candlelight is a ritual, treat it with care. Burn within sight and safely.
Your safety matters as much as your experience. Each True Vintage Candle is made with non-toxic ingredients and cotton wicks, but proper handling is essential. Please follow the guidelines below every time you burn your candle.
SAFETY GUIDELINES
- Never Leave a Burning Candle Unattended: Always burn within sight and extinguish before leaving the room.
- Keep Away From Children & Pets: Curiosity and candle flames don’t mix.
- Burn on a Stable, Heat-Resistant Surface: Protect your surfaces and ensure your vessel stays upright and secure.
- Avoid Flammable Materials: Keep candles away from curtains, bedding, books, dried florals, paper, or décor.
- Trim the Wick Before Each Lighting: A ¼-inch wick reduces flame height, soot, and smoking — and keeps your candle safe.
- Avoid Drafts and High-Traffic Areas: Wind, fans, vents, and breezes can cause soot, tunneling, or uneven burning.
SAFE CANDLE HANDLING
- Do Not Move a Burning Candle: Never handle the vessel when the wax is hot or liquid. Wait until it is completely cool before moving or replacing the lid.
- Keep Wax Free of Debris: Foreign objects (matches, trimmings) can ignite or create flare-ups.
- Watch the Burn Time: Do not burn any candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
- When to Stop Burning: Stop use when ½ inch of wax remains. This prevents glass overheating and protects the wick tab at the bottom of the vessel. Do not relight a candle if the wick tab is exposed. Allow the vessel to cool fully before handling, cleaning, or repurposing.
- Keep candles away from: Direct sunlight, Heat sources, Extreme temperature shifts, Windy or unstable areas. These conditions may cause cracking, sweating, fading, or uneven burns.
